There is an increasing trend of owning hybrid cars. So, what is it about hybrid cars that is now attracting more and more people to get one for their own?
First of all, if you're fortunate enough to be a hybrid owner, you'll cut your fuel consumption in half. Gas prices are on a constant rise and will not fall at all. When compared to conventional cars, a hybrid will take half the fuel to run. That spells less time wasted at the pump.
The government is also taking steps to promote the hybrid technology. Back in 2005, the President of the United States signed a bill into law that gives serious tax relief to hybrid car buyers.

The hybrid automobile was conceived of due to the demand for more efficient and less pollution emitting cars. It's also worth noting that the car doesn't require any charging via an electrical substation in order to run at full power. Hybrids charge themselves by means of power usually lost during coasting and braking and can also be charged by the car's gasoline engine.
Hybrid cars also offer a great return on investment. Hybrids also car can retain a higher resale value. Anyone looking to sell or trade a pre-owned hybrid should be sure that you will get more of what you paid for it. One complaint among potential hybrid buyers is that the retail price is higher than conventional cars in the same weight class. That being said, the hybrid is still a better value in that it saves its owners money over the life of the car in gas costs.
To conclude, if you need a car that runs cleaner, quieter and far more fuel efficient, you'll want to start shopping for a hybrid.

Photos here: picasaweb.google.com Today I've recorded a test at Monza Circuit (Italy) of the new Peugeot 908 for 2011 LMP championship. The track has been wetted by a special water tank. The car hasn't got the racing livery. You can see that there are a lot of new aerodynamic parts like a large engine air-intake mounted on top of the engine cover, the fin on the engine cover or the rear wing mounted on a twin 'swan-neck' supports. The engine is a 3700cc V8 turbocharged diesel engine. The sound is quite different from the old V12 turbodiesel engine and this V8 sounds a bit more noisy (good thing that

Since March, the U.S. government have announced a number of bio-fuel subsidy scheme, involving the development, production, project management and other fields, trying to accelerate the U.S. cellulosic ethanol and algae fuel projects in the building to ensure the future of the United States leading bio-fuel. U.S. President Barack Obama on Feb. 3 called for speeding up the development of U.S. bio-fuels, clean energy economy to build the basis of the United States, reduce America's energy dependence on other countries. Obama said the EPA has issued regulations to ensure the realization of the United States Congress in 2022 set annual production of biofuels to reach 36 billion gallons of objectives; the United States Department of Agriculture will also introduce measures to provide financing for the development of bio-fuels. Currently, the U.S. annual production of bioethanol, about 120 billion gallons of mostly corn-based ethanol. U.S. Department of Agriculture announced on March 3, Range Fuel will provide 80 million U.S. dollars of loan guarantees to finance the company's plant in Georgia, wood cellulose production of biofuels projects. It is understood that this is the first time the United States Department of Agriculture for the commercialization of cellulosic biofuel plants to provide secured loans. Loan funds will be used in part of the first commercial fuel Range cellulose bio-fuel projects. Fully operational, the plant will annually produce 20 million gallons of cellulosic ethanol. March 4, U.S. Department of Energy's Advanced Energy Research Projects Agency and DuPont signed a technology investment agreements, grants 8.8 million U.S. dollars for a new generation of DuPont algae biofuels conversion sugars of isobutanol. U.S. Department of Energy also said it would use part of the funding method, and then funded 18 pilot and demonstration projects of biological refining the design, construction, and promote U.S. cellulose and seaweed as raw material, the commercial development of biofuels. You look around while your stopped at a traffic light and realize that your surrounded by hybrids. Then it hits you that hybrids really are the new wave of the coming future. Hybrids offer many features that the conventional car does not have. But no matter how advances hybrids are they are still expensive to purchase and repair, just like any other car. Some repairs and problems with a hybrid need to be done by a hybrid certified mechanic. Before you make the leap and buy a new hybrid you might want to take a look at two of the major repairs you might have to deal with after you make your purchase.
Engine and Motor Repairs
Just like conventional cars hybrids also have a gasoline only internal combustion engine. During the life of your car there will probably be a point where your car will leak oil and will then be in need of repair. You might have a point where your hybrid’s motor will not babel to turn over or the connective system that runs your wiring could become loose and will need to be repairs. Because unlike the conventional car hybrids have both an electric motor and a gasoline engine the make up that lies under the hood of a hybrid is quite different from a conventional car. While a hybrid is great in so many ways a regular mechanic might not be qualified or have the ability to service your hybrids engine or motor.
The Battery Pack
If your used to driving a conventional car you know that they run on a lead acid battery. When it dies you can usually replace it easily yourself. You just have to purchase on at the local auto part store, purchase a new battery and replace it in only a few hours. Sometimes conventional car battery issues can even be solved by simply giving it a jump start. Hybrids on the other hand are not so simple to fix. The ability to hook your car up to another vehicle to get a jump is not an option for a hybrid. The hybrid does not come equipt with a place to hook the cars together and if you try to do so you will more than likely end up ruining both cars, permanently.
If the battery pack in a hybrid fails you only have two options to fix it. Both of these options involve a specially trained mechanic. You might only have one cell inside the hybrid battery pack that is malfunctioning or it could be the whole battery pack that is malfunctioning. If it is only one cell in your battery pack that will only cost you about 0. If it is the entire battery pack your look at a cost of about ,000 or even more. It depends on the type of hybrid you own.It takes time for mechanics to become trained for all the new parts of technology that are coming into our world. Over the years things will change and there will be more mechanics available to hybrid cars. But for now the pool is quite limited.
