Just showing off some of the cool new electric cars and putting to rest some of the myths out there. When people think of electric cars, typically they think of older ugly slower models, lead-acid batterys, and BS propaganda they've read slamming the "electric cars"(as though they all carried the exact same attributes) The battery technology has changed(and will change even more when nanowire battery becomes common), the speeds have changed, the climate versatility has changed, the prices are changing, the car companies are changing... everything is changing for the better. I expect to see a lot more support for EV's during and after 2010. Music, San Francisco, by: Global Deejays

Wouldn't you just know it, just as the Hybrid Car begins to make its presence felt as the saviour of tomorrows motorist (and the world) along comes another young pretender to the throne - The hydrogen fuelled car. Some people say that hydrogen cars will have pure refeshment water on tap. We shall see, in theory it could happen with a Hydrogen Car but they are way behind the Hybrid Car in their development program and forecasting is impossible. Hydrogen cars do however, have the potential to be better cars than Hybrid Cars in several ways so we need to compare their known characteristics.
Hydrogen cars use a chemical reaction rather than a burning process for motive power
Conventional cars burn fossil fuel and Hybrid Cars use smaller amounts of the same fuel to charge their batteries. Hydrogen Cars do not use fossil fuel at all. Instead Hydrogen Cars depend upon a chemical reaction between Hydrogen and Oxygen that produces a lot of energy plus pure water residue - a completely pollution free process. Hence the earlier reference to water on tap in Hydrogen cars. It is not possible for Hybrid Cars to achieve the same thing without breaking the Laws of Chemistry.
The reaction process in Hydrogen Cars produces up to three times the energy output from the equivalent gasoline based process in conventional and hybrid cars.
Hydrogen fuel burns both hotter and faster than fossil based fuel and is therefore much more efficient. In theory therefore it should be possible to design Hydrogen Cars that canreach incredible speeds with as yet unrealised acceleration compared to Hybrid Cars. There is simply no way that Hybid Cars, dependent as they are (in all their forms) on battery power, will be able to compete on this level.
The question arises "Is the hydrogen car concept for real?
Many people believe that Hybrid Cars reflect reality much more than Hydrogen Cars do. Hybrid Cars exist on our roads now and have already cut pollution emmissions by some 30% to 50%. Why then do we need to indulge in a possible flight of fancy such as the Hydrogen Car by investing vast sums of money to try to achieve the impossible?
The Hydrogen used in Hydrogen Cars is defined as a fuel carrier. It is not considered to be a fuel source in itself.
Indeed, it is hoped by some proponents of this type of fuel process, that in the future it will be possible to produce hydrogen with the use of such sources as wind power and other renewable energy sources. That means that hydrogen has to be produced from other sources. And people are hoping that hydrogen will be able to be produced from things such as wind power or other types of renewable sources. Right now, it looks like all we have is natural gas. That is the most efficient way to get hydrogen. And if that's the case, then there's no need to make hydrogen cars. Hybrid cars already cut down on how much gas people use. Who needs hydrogen cars that may end up costing us more in natural gas?
It will be hard create a lot of stations to fuel hydrogen cars
People are saying there is an overwhelming amount of challenges when it comes to creating the multitudes of hydrogen fueling stations that would be needed if millions of people suddenly started owning hydrogen cars. Hybrid cars use gas. And we already have gas stations.
But president Bush has made it clear that he wants hydrogen cars to be on the roads in significant numbers by the year 2020. So it seems that those who oppose hydrogen cars might just have to hold their breath and see if hydrogen cars actually live up to the lofty promises people associate with them. If they don't live up to their promises, people will probably start running back to hybrid cars in droves. And that's not too bad. Hybrid cars or hydrogen cars, one of them is going to get us to cleaner air.

The main question and perhaps why you are reading this article. Should you buy a Hybrid car in 2007 or 2008? The answer to that question really relies on you as their are many reasons to buy one and many not to buy.
Hopefully by reading this article you'll be better informed and with the information presented here and in other areas of research you will decide whether to purchase a Hybrid Car now or in the future.
Starting off I'm going to give you some information that I've picked up from different auto makers, Wikpedia, Consumer Reports and other online and off line sources.
With that said I decided to give you a little history and background information concerning the electric powered car.
Did you know as far back as 1901 the hybrid car was being experimented with. It's true a gentlemen by the name of Ferdinand Porsche designed a Hybrid car named the "Mixte". This Hybrid used a gasoline engine powering a generator the generator powered hub motors with a backup battery pack for backup redundancy.
Then in 1915 an electric car maker a manufacturing company by the name of Woods Motor Vehicle designed a Hybrid aptly named "Dual Power". This car had a 4 cylinder internal combustion engine and an electric motor. The electric motor below the speed of 15 mph independently powered the vehicle drawing power from a battery pack. At speeds above 15 mph the gasoline motor kicked in to increase the needed power requirements.
Here we are in 2007 with Hybrid cars that aren't much better than their 1900 counterparts, granted they can achieve speeds of 100 mph compared to only 35 mph back then. But if you take a closer look the technology was here even in 1901.
The regenerative braking system, the concept of most todays HEVs, was developed by electrical engineer David Arthurs around 1978 using off-the shelf parts and imagine this a Opel GT.
Fast forward to 2007 and the choices are many and it looks like from all reports that the Toyota Prius is the best all around choice. This baby has a total combined rating of 55 mpg and city driving of a whopping 60 mpg with a price tag of 22K - 24K. The Prius also has the best emissions standards of all the others. At this time it seems to be the leader of the pack and the most bang for your buck.
I decided to add some other average Hybrids to give you a comparison to the Toyota Prius.
Saturn came out with a line of Hybrids recently and they now have a mid size car named Aura. Gas EPA estimates for the Aura are 24 city, 32 highway. Not the best but comparable to the other Auto Makers. MSRP for the Aura is 22,790.00 not too shabby!
Updated for 2007, the Toyota Camry Hybrid is a 4-door sedan that can carry 5 passengers. This hybrid vehicle is powered by a standard I4, 2.4-liter hybrid engine is a 192-horse engine. This hybrid vehicle achieves 43-mpg in city driving and 37-mpg on highways. The Camry has an automatic trans and the overdrive comes standard.
The 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid has been complemented for its impressive interior and consumption. However, many users have complained that consumption strives to obtain what is advertised by the company. Its been said that the Camry only achieves 34mpg maximum.
Toyota has stopped at nothing for this hybrid vehicle but it comes with a price, and it's expensive. Sold at an average of ,000 in showrooms. This vehicle is a nice option for those that want luxury and also to save on gas.
A huge hit in 2006 and its gotten better for 2007. The 2007 Ford Escape is a 4-door SUV vehicle that can carry up to a maximum of five passengers. This hybrid vehicle comes in two styles, the 4WD and FWD.
This SUV hybrid is powered by a I4, 2.3-liter, 155-horsepower engine. It has achieved 36-mpg in city driving and 31-mpg on the highway. Both styles come with transmissions that are variable speed automatics.
I hope you have enjoyed this article and that it has been informative!

It is a vehicle that uses two or more distinct power sources to move the vehicle. It uses multiple sources of energy for propulsion.A well known car of this type is Toyota Prius.
Generally hybrid car combination of an internal combustion engine + fuel tank, a combination of electric motors and batteries. It uses a combination of both energy forms and it provides optimized fuel efficiency without compromising performance.
In US market mostly selling cars are Cardillac Escalade, Chevy Silverado, Ford Fusion. Two modes of power generation usage is one of the negative aspect of buying a Hybrid car and it leads to extra payment.Cost of a hybrid car is high compared to other models which offer similar performance.Hybrid car offer good fuel efficiency. This type of cars are the best choice for long rides.
Some jargons to consider while buying a hybrid car:
Motor Generator - also known as MG - it represents the electric motors. Most of the cars provides two motors and some has three. Start Stop - a key function of all hybrid cars and is carried out by MG section. When the driver applies brake pedal, engine is turned off automatically and is restarted automatically by releasing the brake pedal. This feature helps to save fuel lost in engine idle time.Best examples: while riding in towns, high traffic etc.
Regenerative braking - It generate electricity and also used to charge batteries. This function is implemented with the help of MG by using the excessive momentum generated. In general cases, excessive momentum generated is wasted in brakes,But in hybrid they are used to charge the batteries.
Electric Drive - means running fully on electric operation. This mode is idle for straight and smooth roads. But the "electric drive" mode comes with its own conditions always.Maximum possible speed limits depends on total distance achievable and other performance limitations.MG section, power of batteries and other features like aerodynamics are the other dependency factors of speed limits.
Layouts - Technically 3 type of layouts are available. Series,Parallel and Series-Parallel.
Series hybrid :-One of the oldest model available is Series hybrid.Electric motors are used to drive the wheels. An engine is used to generate the electricity by burning fuels. This is the first form of a hybrid vehicle made in the last century.
Parallel hybrid :- One of the simplest and cost effective models available in the market.Electric motor which provide an extra boost and the engine (fuel consumption) is used to propel.
Series Parallel hybrids - It is a combination of Series hybrid and Parallel hybrid. Here fuel and electricity are used to provide transmission independently. An intelligent system in the cars, that are used to select the mode of transmission itself automatically, on the basis of various criteria like road condition, traffic status etc.
Battery type and power, power steering technology used, air conditioning systems, performance of battery, longevity are the important consideration while buying a hybrid.Complicated machinery and technology involved in hybrid car, so they increases the maintenance costs.Always remember these things.

Today the world has launched a green revolution in which everything that has the potential to cause air pollution as much as possible to be changed. As in the automotive field, are now busy implementing hybrid technology In the latest of cars. Actually, what the benefits and advantages of these hybrid cars.
Hybrid car is a combination of two systems that work on a conventional car and a system that works on electric cars. Conventional cars rely on energy sources of fuel, like gasoline, diesel, or gas to move. Utilization of the internal combustion engine, energy from the combustion of fuel used and converted into motion, which can propel the car. Although in general showed a good performance with low prices, a conventional car exhaust emissions and creates high pollution and continue to spend a lot of natural resources.
While electric cars do not need anything from burning. Electricity is converted into power through electric motors, to propel the car. Although these electric-powered cars environmentally friendly, no noise and have good acceleration, he takes charge and proper infrastructure. With incomplete infrastructure of electric cars it is still a lot of experience obstacles if it will be mass produced. This makes the electric-powered cars would be impractical.

"Hybrid Cars" uses a combination of electric cars and conventional cars that use combustion in the engine, by maximizing the strengths of both of these resources in addition to co-exist shortcomings, the result is the efficiency of fuel consumption with outstanding performance can be obtained.
Advantages of Hybrid Cars where efficiency of high fuel consumption so that more fuel efficient, environmentally friendly since exhaust emissions are low, a good calm, and great performance and driving satisfaction are some of the advantages of the Hybrid car. Efficient cars currently it needs with fewer staff resources available.
More and more people are now considering getting a hybrid car because they will save fuel and taxes. The fact is that hybrid cars can be much more expensive in price when compared with conventional cars. However, you should know also that this long-term savings. If you try to calculate and compare the total cost that you will make hybrid cars against conventional cars, you will see that hybrid cars are a much cheaper alternative. You will see that conventional cars will be much more expensive when we calculate the total fuel consumption.
If you are a person who is always trying to save fuel and was surprised by the increase in gasoline prices when you get to the gas station, then the hybrid car is a the right vehicle for you. Hybrid engine technology has been there now. Most locomotives today are now using hybrid engine technology. They have diesel electric engines that help save a lot of money in fuel. Some nuclear electric engines similar to what you would see on a nuclear submarine.
